Voice of America (VOA) Tigrigna program today, 25 October 2012, reported that 72 illegal migrants from Ethiopian drowned attempting to cross from Bossaso, Somalia to the Middle East. (listen to VOA audio report below)
This is one in a succession of tragedies of its kind to hit the Horn of Africa community. This reported drowning by VOA comes within a short span of BBC’s 21 June 2012 story. BBC reported of the disappearance, in lake Malawi, of 60 Ethiopian and Somali migrants and the confirmed drowning of 47 of them.
