The Concordia Student Union (CSU) and the African and Caribbean Students’ Network of Canada (ACSioN Network) proudly present an evening with:

Dambisa Moyo, world-renowned author and economist, named by Time Magazine in 2009 as one of the “100 Most Influential People In The World”,* will visit Concordia University on Wednesday February 13th, 2013.

Presentation
Dr. Moyo will speak about the potential role played by the African diaspora in driving Africa’s rising economies, as well as the increasing amount of foreign direct investment in Africa beyond remittances and aid. She will also touch on the implications of some of her most recent research, especially highlighting the role played by China in Africa.

Presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer discussion session with audience members.

Dr. Moyo’s latest publication, “Winner Take All: China’s Race for Resources and What It Means For The World” will be available for purchase at the event; Dr. Moyo herself may also be available for book signings.

Dr. Moyo’s work focuses on the forces shaping today’s global economy, and in particular the role of developing nations in this process. In addition to many other publications, Dr. Moyo has recently authored:
